The new LED luminaires reduce power consumption by more than 60 % and reinforce citizen security
PAMPLONA —20/12/2018— ATP has completed the total renovation of Egüés Valley's (Navarre, Spain) outdoor lighting, commissioned by the administration of said municipality. The objectives of this project, which has become a national and international reference, were numerous and demanding: achieve a high saving in energy consumption and maintenance costs, improve uniformity, luminosity and color rendering index, eliminate light pollution and reinforce citizen security, especially in the rural areas of the Valley. According to data from the City Council, with the new ATP lighting, electricity consumption has been reduced by more than 60 %.
The luminaires include remote management systems that allow adjusting the operating hours and the intensity of the lighting to different situations, and they have been also equipped with presence sensors to avoid unnecessary usage. Likewise, the low-height street lights include ATP's Comfort Diffuser®, designed by the company to mitigate the glare produced by LED and thus improve the visual comfort of pedestrians and drivers.
Egüés Valley covers a wide territory of more than 50 km2, with diverse scenarios and very different lighting and aesthetic needs: urban areas —such as Sarriguren, with about 14,000 inhabitants—, roads, large avenues, and parks, as well as rural nuclei. The company has responded with different solutions adapted to each environment, from classic ornamental lampposts, such as the Villa, to illuminate and dress the villages, to the innovative Aire®, with high power and performance, for street lighting. All luminaires integrate the Laminar Heatsink®, a thermal management system designed by the company to extend LED's useful life.
ATP products' unique characteristics have been decisive when choosing the Navarre enterprise for the renovation project: the brand is characterized by offering luminaires and lighting poles made of technical engineering polymers, which are totally hermetic (IP66+), extremely resistant to vandalism (IK10+), immune to corrosion, anti-electrocution (class II+) and 100 % recyclable.
Thanks to their resistance and durability, ATP products do not need maintenance, even in the most extreme conditions. The latter is essential in an environment such as the Egüés Valley, with some areas away from large population centers and with a very aggressive mountain climate that causes the deterioration of regular street lighting in a very short time. ATP also offers its products with a 10-year warranty, one of the longest in the sector.
The Egüés Valley lighting renovation project has been co-financed by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) "A way to build Europe" program.
