The company stands out for its huge investment in R&D and technology, through which it has solved the major issues posed by outdoor lighting, such as corrosion, electrocution, or vandalism
PAMPLONA —14/5/2019— Last Tuesday, May 7, the 50th anniversary of ATP Lighting was celebrated at the company's headquarters in Arre, Pamplona. ATP is specialized in the design and manufacture of high quality outdoor lighting created from technical engineering polymers, offering a product that is unique in the world: lighting units that are immune to corrosion, electrocutionproof, extremely resistant to vandalism, and totally hermetic. The President of the Navarre Government, Uxue Barkos, along with ATP directors, members of the Spanish Lighting Committee, and local authorities, such as the Mayor of the Ezcabarte Valley, Pedro María Lezáun Esparza, and the Mayor of the Egüés Valley, Alfonso Etxeberria Goñi attended the meeting.
The celebration of ATP's 50th anniversary began with an opening ceremony in which representatives of the institutions participated. The President of the Navarre Government congratulated everybody who is part of the ATP Iluminación team, and thanked them for 'their effort to improve their products through research and innovation to offer a service to society, by means of public lighting equipment that is increasingly more efficient, safer and more durable'. Meanwhile, Guillermo Redrado, the firm's COO, explained that, since its foundation in 1969, the company has been characterized by 'its unique approach in the sector: Identifying the main outdoor lighting issues and solving them ingeniously, through an intense R&D effort'.
Redrado pointed out that this anniversary is an unparalleled opportunity to delve deeper into the brand and reflect on its evolution: "Throughout its 50 years of existence, innovation has been the main identity feature of this company, and that has enabled us the creation of a unique outdoor lighting in the market which offers the highest features and integrates technologies devised and patented by the firm itself; that is our essence: we have always been a company focused on solving the issues we find in public lighting. Redrado also mentioned: 'For us, it is inconceivable to have a lamppost that could cause damage to a person or a dog, or that a coastal municipality spends thousands of euros in maintaining the lighting of its promenade'.
How to make a one of a kind lighting unit
Afterwards, a guided tour of the factory took place, in which they explained the production process of an ATP lighting unit, unique luminaires in the world manufactured entirely in Spain, from design to dispatch, and showing the brand's advanced technology tools, as well as the different robotized processes.
During the tour, each department explained in detail its role in the creation of the products, and visitors were able to get to know them face to face, from the technical office, where the luminaires are created, to the Quality department, where they are verified to comply with the most demanding operation and resistance testing. At the end of the itinerary, the guests were taken to the exhibition hall, where the director of ATP Lighting R&D, Sandra Solán, shared some key points on remote management and colour temperatures in outdoor lighting with them.
In the afternoon, the company's 50th anniversary activities continued with a private guided tour of the Egüés Valley, where ATP has recently replaced all public lighting in a project selected by the Institute for Diversification and Saving or Energy (IDAE) as exemplary, due to its high technical quality. As for the closing event, a gala dinner was held, at which ATP made a donation to UNICEF for each attendee, thanks to which 9800 children will be vaccinated.
