the definitive solution
All our street lights have an absolute protection against electrocution. It is that simple, as powerful and real as it sounds. This unprecedented achievement has been possible thanks to a refined combination of fully insulated and immune to corrosion techno-polymers, various safety devices –such as an auto-disconnect mechanism and an IP66/IK10 access panel– and a structure designed for an easy maintenance, without tools.
No detail has been left to chance: both the design of the street lights and the materials used in their manufacture eliminate the possibility of shock on contact with any part of the structure –base, mast, access panel or luminaire–, regardless of weather conditions. This advance definitely solves one of the most difficult challenges in the field of public lighting, and it is the first step to putting an end to dangerous street lights which are still sold by other firms. ATP products are, in short, the safest in the market, and the best way to prevent accidents among installers, technicians and pedestrians.
Class II is an international index of electrical protection applied to the exterior lighting. To be awarded this distinction, a streetlight must have, among other requirements, a double and/or entirely reinforced insulation, with no provision for earthing. It is also essential that the product presents a dielectric strength –the maximum electric field that an insulating body can withstand before becoming a conductor– of at least 3000 volts.
It should be noted that products belonging to this category are already considered highly secure. However, ATP articles are not only Class II but show a dielectric strength of 175 000 volts, that is, 60 times higher than required by the standard UNE-EN 60598-1 to obtain such certification. Our Class II is also visual: ATP streetlights have all their metal parts coated with the S7 polymer, which makes obvious to the eye that it is impossible to get electrocuted with them. ATP's Synergy Tube® is one of the key components to achieving absolute protection against electrocution. It is a hybrid structure cylinder with a galvanized steel core and a fused coating of Engineered Technical Reinforced Polymer S7, which is noted for being extremely solid, immune to corrosion and an excellent electrical insulator.
This non-conductive material guarantees that direct contact with the street light is one hundred percent safe. Moreover, its proven resistance to external agents –rain, saltpeter, intense sun, highly polluted or extremely toxic environements– ensures that the anti-electrocution properties remain unchanged over time, with no need for painting or maintenance.
