These distinctions, granted by AENOR, authenticate the IP66, IK10 and class II categories of ATP street lights in Spain, the EU and over 50 countries around the rest of the world
PAMPLONA —29/08/2016— ATP Lighting, the world leader in manufacturing street lighting and urban furniture from technical engineering polymers, has recently obtained the N, the ENEC and the CB certificates for the luminaire family Siglo (Siglo, Plaza and Malaki series), both in their discharge and LED versions.
These distinctions, granted by AENOR after passing the required tests in the Official Central Laboratory of Electrical Engineering (LCOE in Spanish), validate, among other parameters (quality, electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and performance, for example) the IP66, IK10 and Class II categories of the mentioned series in different territorial areas: national (N), European (ENEC) and in over 50 countries around the world (CB).
These certificates attest internationally three of the defining characteristics of ATP street lights, that is, total sealing, maximum resistance to vandalism and absolute protection against electrocution. The company has announced its intention to obtain as soon as possible the N, the ENEC and the CB certificates for its family of road and suburban luminaires Enur, both in discharge and LED.
IK10+, IP66+ and Class II +, beyond the standards
Although the demanding exams necessaries to acquire these certificates already ensure the durability and safety of the products successfully tested, ATP street lights go beyond.
On the one hand, they withstand impact tests exceeding 50 joules, more than the double of the maximum set by the standard IK -IK10, -20 joules-.This unique level of resistance is called IK10+ by ATP. On the other hand, the sealing of the items –IP66– is not limited to the optical compartment, but extends to the entire covering of the street light, which guarantees the protection of electrical and electronic components against liquids and solid particles. The company has given the name of IP66+ to this characteristic.
Finally, ATP products are not only Class II but demonstrate a dielectric strength –voltage necessary for an insulating body to become conductive– of 175 000 volts, which is 60 times higher than the requirements set for that category (Class II+).
