ATP Lighting renews the lighting in the coastal municipality of Navia, Asturias (Spain), with corrosion-resistant LED solutions

ASTURIAS —18/1/2024— Lighting projects along the seaside are the specialty of ATP Lighting, which has recently completed another lighting renewal in a coastal area with a challenging climate. This time, it's the coastal municipality of Navia in Asturias, where the Navarrese company has replaced the previous 150 W VSAP lamps with corrosion-resistant Litoral LED luminaires of 25 and 35 W, featuring Comfort Diffuser® to mitigate glare.

The project has been custom-designed with precise light levels to ensure safety, and with customized optics directing light only where needed to minimize upper hemisphere flow and power. This has resulted in energy savings of over 75%.

Furthermore, to reduce light pollution, special care has been taken to ensure that the percentage of spectral radiant flux below 440 nm wavelength (blues) is minimal. This has been achieved with our warm color temperatures. However, it's important to note that installing a warm light source alone is not sufficient; what is crucial are the mentioned spectral radiance data. The same color temperature can have differences in the percentage of blue spectral component of up to 45% depending on the manufacturer. Therefore, ATP Lighting ensures that its warm and ultrawarm color temperatures have the lowest blue indices in the market.

Finally, the corrosion resistance of ATP lighting has been crucial in this project. The luminaires from the Navarrese company are made of technical engineering polymers and come with a comprehensive 10-year warranty even in extreme conditions of humidity, temperature, and salinity. This feature contributes to cost savings in maintenance, especially for seaside lighting, providing a decisive advantage over other proposals.
