ATP lights up the Sabinillas seaside promenade, Málaga (Spain), with immune to corrosion lighting assemblies

SABINILLAS —15/3/2024— The Sabinillas promenade, located in the coastal city of Málaga (Spain), is a landmark of the municipality of Manilva that attracts residents and tourists alike with its Mediterranean charm and vibrant seaside ambiance. Recently, ATP Lighting has been involved in enhancing this iconic urban space through a cutting-edge outdoor lighting project.

Several aspects make this installation an optimal solution. Firstly, a warm color temperature has been selected, providing a cozy, eye-friendly illumination that harmoniously integrates with the surrounding environment without disturbing the natural beauty of the area. This color temperature combines a high color rendering index (above 70) with a minimal component of blues in its spectral radiance, contributing to the reduction of light pollution and respecting the circadian rhythms of both people and animals.

Furthermore, glare control, thanks to the implementation of the Comfort Diffuser® in the luminaires, ensures a pleasant and safe visual experience for promenade users during nighttime hours. This diffuser softens the light, promotes uniformity, and significantly enhances the overall appearance of the environment by eliminating glare. This feature is key to ensuring the comfort and safety of pedestrians and cyclists enjoying the seaside promenade.

High uniformity and resistance to the marine environment

One of the highlights of this project is the high uniformity achieved in the promenade lighting. Through careful selection of power levels and optics, a uniform distribution of light has been achieved throughout the area, creating a welcoming and attractive ambiance for visitors. Additionally, the optimization of power levels and optics has helped avoid over-illumination, keeping energy consumption and light pollution at minimal levels.

The lighting fixtures installed on the Sabinillas promenade stand out for their durability and resilience. Manufactured with corrosion-resistant engineering polymers, these fixtures are designed to withstand, without the need for maintenance, the conditions of humidity, temperature, and salinity typical of a maritime environment like the Mediterranean.
