The Aire® luminaire will receive the Design Plus award, reserved for the most innovative products of the exhibition
PAMPLONA —22/02/2018— ATP has confirmed its attendance at the biannual Light + Building fair in Frankfurt, the most important show in the world for the lighting sector, where it will have its own brand stand –hall 5, C44–. In this outstanding international exhibition, which will hold its next edition from March 18 to 23, 2018, the company will showcase its new generation of high-performance LED ensembles with Laminar Heatsink® and Comfort Diffuser®, two innovations that will shape the future of diode technology applied to street lighting.
Although many other novelties will be presented, among which is the universal upgrade kit KitLED®, the main protagonist of the exhibition will be the revolutionary Aire® luminaire (3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series, from lowest to highest power). This family of street lights, created specifically to maximize the advantages of LED technology while eliminating its drawbacks, has been distinguished by its sleek and avant-garde design with the renowned German Design Award 2018 and the Design Plus powered by Light + Building, both considered emblems of excellence.
This last prize is reserved for the most innovative products presented in the Light + Building, and is physically awarded during the fair itself. The articles highlighted with it will be exhibited between March 18 and 23 in hall 1.2, A51 / B51, and the awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 18, at 2:00 pm, in the same place.
The ATP Lighting's stand will be equipped with interactive devices so that visitors can test the unique characteristics of all the brand's products –mostly given by the exclusive technical engineered polymers with which they are manufactured–: immunity to corrosion, anti-electrocution, maximum protection against vandalism (IK10+) and hermetic sealing (IP66+). So, for instance, an ATP luminaire will be displayed receiving jets of water from all angles, showing no leaks, and there will be a hammer for impact tests at the disposal of those wanting to check the resistance of the ATP diffusers, manufactured with the exclusive T5 high-impact tropicalized thermopolymer.
Design Plus, an award for design and technological excellence
The Design Plus powered by Light + Building competition has once again had a great reception at Light + Building 2018: no fewer than 154 companies from 26 countries –including some from outside of Europe, such as Japan, Colombia, China, Taiwan, India, Canada and USA– have taken part presenting a total of 222 products. The jury, made up of specialists of recognized prestige, has selected 39 of the nominations as winners of the Design Plus award, including ATP Lighting's Aire® luminaire. The contest has been organized by Messe Frankfurt in collaboration with the German Design Council, and distinguishes with the aforementioned prize those innovations that meet in an exceptional way three fundamental requirements: design, ecological awareness and technological excellence.
Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, has explained the importance of this contest: “Some 2,600 exhibitors attend Light + Building to showcase their new products in the field of lighting, electrical and electronic engineering and home and building services technology. The ‘Design Plus powered by Light + Building’ competition is all about the careful selection of outstanding innovations from the Light + Building exhibitors. I should particularly like to recommend a visit to the special exhibition [hall 1.2, A51 / B51], which provides, in a concentrated and accessible form, information about current trends in both design and technology”.
For Andrej Kupetz, executive director of the German Design Council, the contest is a reliable trend barometer. He pointed out that, as happens with the digitization and the automation of buildings, the potential of LED technology is far from being exhausted: “Not only has it been possible to continually improve light quality over the past few years; the practically unlimited freedom of form has opened up hitherto undreamed possibilities for designers, planners and architects alike. However, particularly in situations where major change is in the air, a consistent brand management strategy is as important as the technical development of a product. It does not surprise me, therefore, that some of the major brands are amongst the winners selected for an award by the distinguished panel of adjudicators for this year’s ‘Design Plus powered by Light + Building”.
