The project, custom-designed with personalized 2200 K LED luminaires, has achieved high uniformity with a total energy savings of 84%
CASPE —5/8/2023— ATP signs another custom comprehensive lighting renovation project, this time in Caspe (Zaragoza, Spain), a town with over 10,000 inhabitants and significant historical heritage. Faced with the age and deterioration of the previous installation and the high electricity bill, the City Council embarked on a total lighting upgrade for the municipality, aiming to improve the quality of urban lighting, reduce electricity consumption, mitigate light pollution, and enhance safety.
The project was executed using a combination of classic, decorative, and modern luminaires for different areas of the town, with an ultra-warm 2200 K color temperature (except for pedestrian crossings, where 3000 K was used) and a flow regulation system that achieved a total energy savings of 84% compared to the previous installation.
The key to achieving such high efficiency and superior uniformity, surpassing the standards, was a thorough prior lighting study and customization of light fixtures to precisely meet the needs of each area with the lowest power possible. As described by Luis Miguel Navarro, project consulting engineer and vice president of the Spanish Lighting Committee (CEI), "made-to-measure" solutions were provided for each section of the town, ensuring maximum efficiency, uniformity, energy savings, and light pollution control.
Another fundamental aspect of this project was enhancing safety by replacing the previous, heavily deteriorated poles with ATP's Class II+ anti-electrocution polymeric columns (Synergic Tube®), eliminating electrical risks for citizens and pets. All installed luminaires are Class II+ anti-electrocution, and rusty arms were replaced with ATP's immune-to-corrosion polymeric arms.
Lastly, thanks to the use of ultra-warm color temperature, Caspe will be eligible for Starlight certification, which can have a positive impact on tourism in the municipality. Additionally, this color temperature creates a welcoming ambiance for residents, enhancing visual comfort.
ATP wishes to extend public gratitude to the participants featured in this video: Pilar Mustieles, mayor of Caspe; Miguel Laguens, municipal architect; Gabriel Luena, councilor of Urban Planning and Works; Luis Miguel Navarro, consulting engineer and vice president of CEI, and Alberto Coca, from the installation company Enrique Coca S.L.
