Transformation of street lighting in Magaz de Pisuerga: efficiency and quality serving the community

The project has achieved an energy consumption reduction of over 70%, improving visibility and safety while respecting the urban and architectural environment

MAGAZ DE PISUERGA —5/9/2024— The municipality of Magaz de Pisuerga, in the province of Palencia, has recently completed the modernization of its outdoor public lighting system, combining energy efficiency with a significant improvement in lighting quality. This project, which represents a comprehensive transformation of the town’s urban spaces, stands out for its ability to adapt advanced technological solutions to the specific needs of each area, contributing to the safety and well-being of its residents.

High uniformity and color rendering: quality lighting

The implementation of state-of-the-art LED lighting in Magaz de Pisuerga has resulted in homogeneous illumination with excellent color rendering. This improvement translates into optimized visibility across all areas covered, which enhances safety for both pedestrians and drivers. With the new LED luminaires, colors are perceived more naturally and accurately, enhancing the urban environment while also boosting the sense of comfort and safety within the community.

Light pollution control and sustainable lighting with warm CCT

The design of the new lighting system in Magaz de Pisuerga carefully considered the need to minimize light pollution. With optimized power levels and a warm correlated color temperature (CCT) that minimizes the blue component in its spectral radiance, the project contributes to protecting the night environment and preserving the local ecosystem. This attention to detail not only meets current regulations but also reflects a responsible approach to urban lighting, prioritizing efficiency without sacrificing the quality of life for citizens.

Energy savings and environmental commitment

One of the most remarkable achievements of this project has been the reduction of energy consumption by over 70% compared to the previous discharge-based lighting system. This significant decrease in consumption represents a substantial economic saving for the municipality and reinforces Magaz de Pisuerga’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. This success was made possible by the superior efficiency of the new generation of ATP Lighting LED luminaires, designed to deliver optimal performance with minimal energy consumption.

Tailored solutions for each space

The Magaz de Pisuerga project effectively combined a variety of lighting solutions tailored to the specific characteristics of each area. In parks and recreational areas, Cónica TLA luminaires were installed, providing soft and uniform light, ideal for leisure spaces.

In the town’s historical center, where maintaining a traditional aesthetic was key, Villa XLA luminaires were used, integrating modern technology with a classic design. For street lighting, the Enur Micro was chosen, ensuring efficient and safe lighting for roadways. Additionally, the low-height luminaires feature ATP’s internationally patented Comfort Diffuser®, which reduces glare and improves users’ visual experience without compromising safety.

The successful renewal of street lighting in Magaz de Pisuerga highlights ATP Lighting's ability to offer bespoke LED solutions that transform urban spaces, improving quality of life, reducing energy consumption, and respecting the surroundings. The combination of high efficiency, superior lighting quality, and a design adapted to the unique characteristics of each space has allowed Magaz de Pisuerga to benefit from a modern, sustainable lighting system in harmony with its cultural and architectural identity.
