More than 1400 LED fernandine lamps will save around 70 % in electricity consumption
ASTURIAS —11/05/2016— The first phase of the Oviedo Council's plan to replace the streetlights of the city has already concluded: it involved the installation of 1466 Siglo XLA LED fernandine lamps, including the revolutionary Comfort Diffuser®, along 39 streets. With this performance, ATP has improved the city night appearance and achieved substantial energy savings: the new equipment provide the streets with a clear, clean and colorful image, while they economize more than 70 % of power consumption.
The difference from the previous sodium vapor lamps can be noticed at a glance: the greenness of the trees vibrates, the urban furniture can be drawn accurately and the eye feels relaxed and ready to discover nuances of the city never perceived before. The Siglo XLA Comfort Diffuser, specially designed for LED technology, also offers maximum visual ease and avoids dazzling pedestrians. Distinguished boulevards like Gascona street now enjoy a clear and uniform lighting, which emphasizes the natural charms of the city and invites people to visit it.
And this brand new appearance is not ephemeral, since these fernandine style lamps, like the rest of ATP products, are extremely solid. We are talking about LED streetlights that are immune to corrosion, anti-vandalic, completely sealed and insulated, which will stand unaltered, together with buildings and monuments, for years to come.
The best balance between savings, quality and light improvement
ATP achieved the best overall results in a field test conducted by Oviedo University Technology Department and surpassed the rest of candidates in the public contest. The sheets of this first phase, furthermore, were thoroughly studied in order to offer a completely homogeneous solution: power and optics were adjusted to reach exactly the same result in illuminance level and uniformity, regardless of the dimensions and particularities of the streets where the works were done. Also, the power saving capacity of these fernandines has allowed a prodigious reduction of kilowatt per hour consumed in a year. This cut has a high ecologic and economic value, and reaffirms ATP as a leading brand in terms of quality and efficiency.
